Multi-criteria suitability mapping and geographic analysis

QGIS analysis - Using the software QGIS, geo-referenced data can be stacked and combined. Using this technique a series of specific criteria can be downloaded, then reclassified to the customers suitability criteria. All reclassified factors will be combined to show the most suitable sites in relation to the factors stated. A mix of either vector or raster data is acceptable.

Once all required factors have been imputed into the GIS digitisation of the most suitable sites will be conducted. A report will be compiled discussing the most appropriate sites in relation to the customers specifications.

Erdas IMAGINE analysis - Using the software Erdas IMAGINE image classification can be conducted using a layer stack and unsupervised classification technique. Using satellite imaging different types of ground can be classified using specific colours. This reclassified image is then inputted into the QGIS software and reclassified depending on the customers suitability specifications.

ArcGIS analysis - Using the software ArcGIS,data can be analysed over specific time frames. Using historic map data changes in urban growth, environmental change, woodland regression, cliff retreat etc. can be mapped and measured.
